Did you know, that as a community organisation, nearly all of 1WAY FM’s team are volunteers?

That’s right, your favourite presenter is a volunteer. The programs and music you hear are brought to the air by volunteers.

To find out more about volunteering at 1WAY FM come along to our Information Night at the station (above Southside Lighting, 1 Lithgow St, Fyshwick) on Monday 12 February at 6pm –Register Now, or if you are keen to start before then, email us now.

We are seeking volunteers to fill a variety positions around the station. Can you see yourself in any of these roles:

Presenter – engage with our listeners over the airwaves to present a Christian message of hope and encouragement, connect with our community of interest while having fun playing some great music and sharing stories of hope and love.

Audio Editor – help put the finishing touches on our recorded shows or Podcasts, create community service announcements for local ministries and more. Editors can work from the station or at your own computer.

Scheduler – generate the daily playout schedules and help make sure our shows will go to air on time. You will download programs from our suppliers and insert them into our playlist, run the schedules and ensure that everything works smoothly behind the scenes and is ready to go.

Church Liaison – help promote 1WAY FM to our local Church community. Working alongside the Engagement Coordinator, you will devise and implement strategies to build closer relationships with Church leaders and their congregations.

Event Hospitality Team – we need your smiling face and vibrant personality at OBs (outside broadcasts) and other events. You will be the face of 1WAY FM, welcoming the public, answering questions, providing information on 1WAY FM, and how to support 1WAY FM (it’s the most important job at any event!).

Event Coordination Team – help get 1WAY FM into our local community. Identify events within the local community that would be appropriate for 1WAY FM to be part of and provide details to the leadership team. Once approved, be part of the team that will help plan, resource and implement the events (it can’t happen without you!).

Website Content Editor – inform our community about what is happening at 1WAY FM and in our local community. If you know how to use WordPress and can help post, edit or create content, this role has your name on it.

Graphic Designer – design images for our website, social media, newsletter or for campaigns like our Annual Appeal. If you are looking for experience in design and want to build your portfolio, or would like to dabble in the area and need a project to work on then get in touch. You don’t have to do it all, you can volunteer for a project at a time to fit in with your other commitments!

Social Media Team – our primary social channel is Facebook. We love sharing about people we are interviewing, events we attend and campaigns we are involved in, as well as the day-to-day happenings around the station. We can only do that if we have a team of people to capture images, create content and post. We are open to exploring other channels if we have people who are keen to help. If you love social media this could be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you.
