On Saturday the 26th, the Covenant Christian School Spring Fair was held for the first time in five years. A beautiful sunny day with clear skies and a cool breeze made for an excellent day out with many festivities to enjoy.

There were balloons and a jumping castle. The army (if you could see through their camouflage), and the Rural Fire Brigade were there. The Fire Brigade had brought one of their trucks, and had a popular game involving firing the hose at targets (hopefully not at parents, as entertaining as that might be for the kids).

There was live music, with the school band playing some songs.

We had some special guests on the show, starting with Eva, Elodie, April, who were selling various confectionery and other goodies, including oreo lollipops, all handmade.

There was hot food, coffee, ice cream, punch, a garden stall, second hand books for sale, and among other things, an eating competition, making for lots of raucous entertainment.

We talked with Principal Martin Keast, Deputy Principal Julie Prattis, Head of Secondary and Head of Music Wendy Lyons, student representatives Blake and Caleb and primary students Joseph and Darius about the school. Who all spoke of the encouraging Christian heart of the school, and the fantastic inclusive atmosphere it fosters.

We also talked with Tim Miller from the Lids4Kids charity. A wonderful community charity that recycles bottle lids.
