In a deeply moving and personal journey, Annette Christou from the Canberra Aboriginal Church recently travelled to the Northern Territory to minister at a special conference with the Bulla Community. This visit was far more than just a ministry opportunity — it was a powerful return to her roots and a chance to walk in the footsteps of her parents, who had faithfully served and helped establish the local church community there years ago.
Annette’s parents were instrumental in planting seeds of faith, support, and connection in the Bulla region, building relationships and laying a foundation that still impacts the community today. As she stood among the people her family had once ministered to, Annette was not only welcomed but also able to witness firsthand the ongoing legacy of her parents’ work — a legacy of love, service, and spiritual strength.
The visit was marked by moments of deep reflection and celebration. Annette shared stories, led worship, and ministered to both elders and youth, seeing how the seeds planted by her family had grown and flourished over time. It was a full-circle experience — honouring the past, encouraging the present, and helping to build hope for the future.
Through this journey, Annette continues to carry the torch her parents once held, reaffirming the importance of generational faith and the ongoing connection between communities near and far.
Tune in for the full interview, where BG and Annette reflect on this incredible experience, the significance of cultural and spiritual heritage, and what it means to serve with heart and purpose.
