Exploring Mentoring is a workshop that is open to all year 10-12 students who would like to explore the possibility of becoming a Mentor. Mentoring can help develop your leadership skills in Christian ministry. It can give you skills to learn more about the diversity of all people. All people are different and can offer gifts and skills regardless of their ability. Exploring Mentoring can answer question for preparation in becoming a leader and mentor on Embracing Ministries Programs. Such as Spring Christian holiday program for youth with special needs (holiday program 25th-29th Sep), Little Treasures or Minnows Music.

Becoming a Mentor can develop:
β€’ Social and emotional development; increased self-esteem, confidence, sense of gratitude and well-being. Greater appreciation of diversity.
β€’ Improved communication skills; expand communication strategies and problem solving skills through communication with non-verbal students, and students with limited speech.
β€’ Vocational opportunities and development; the above skills combined with the opportunity to explore vocations such as disability work, education, social work, and medical professions.
β€’ Supports social skill development, age appropriate behaviours and communication skills through opportunities to interact with peers from other schools
