Heroes of the Faith this week is focusing on William Carey.
William Carey was born in England in 1761. After becoming a Christian, Carey never lost the sense that God wanted him to take the gospel to the English colonies. His trade was as a maker and repairer of shoes but in the evening he taught himself Latin and theology. So strong was Carey’s effect on missions and missionaries that the number of Christians in the following century grew at an enormous rate. Learn more about this most determined man.
