Shufflers will be braving the cold to run around Lake Burley Griffin to raise money in support for those living with Cystic Fibrosis in next to nothing.
In the ACT, the Santa Speedo Shuffle is now in its eighth year and participants are asked to raise at least $650 each. The overall goal is to fundraise $165,000 as people with CF receive little or no government funding or support and rely heavily on their community-based associations for help. In both the ACT and SA, all funds raised will be used to alleviate the costs to members of treating the disease and add to their quality of life.
CF is the most common life-shortening genetic condition in Australia. Managing CF is lifelong, ongoing and relentless as It impacts the whole body, including the respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems.
Registrations on the day open from 9:30am, with the Shuffle commencing at 11:00am.
