Free English Classes run each Sunday during the school term at Tuggeranong Presbyterian Church meeting in Gowrie Primary School Hall on Jeffries Street, Gowrie ACT. Classes start after the church service beginning with a morning tea at 11:30am. Teaching commences at 12 noon and ends at 2:00pm with a 30 minute break for lunch. Students are asked to bring their own lunch along.
Both written and spoken English is taught at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels and all ages are welcome. New students can join on any Sunday.
Our teaching focus is on helping students in practical ways to go about everyday life in Australia. Having the basics of English is not always enough to do basic things like meeting people or shopping because Australians do have a different way of communicating from other cultures. Our aim is to prepare those who have English as a Second Language to become part of our wonderfully diverse society.
