Due to the “Watch and Act” fire alert in force for a large part of south Canberra as a result of the fire burning out of control at Pierce’s Creek we have decided that it would be unwise to run the AGM and Trivia Night this evening. While we hope and pray that the fire will not impact on lives and property, we recognise that, for some, the events of the fires in January 2003 will place people in a heightened state of alert.
Work is underway to secure a venue for the rescheduled meeting. Once arrangements have been finalised we will notify you of the revised details.
We pray God’s protection on those who are fighting the fires and that there is no loss of life or property.
