DESCRIPTION:Million Paws Walk ACT 2012 In its seventh year at Commonwealth Park, our Million Paws Walk continues to be one of RSPCA's most popular outdoor events for animal lovers and their furry friends. This year our theme is a lazy Sunday – and we want you to share what you do on your Sunday. Perhaps you chill on the couch with your pooch, or potter in the garden, or even enjoy a family picnic. Feel free to dress up in your favourite leisure outfit that best depicts your lazy Sunday – we will have prizes for best dressed! The ribbon will officially be cut by Chief Minister Katy Gallagher MLA at 11:00am on Sunday, 20 May 2012. Come along and enjoy a picturesque walk around the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin. We will have activities starting from 9:00am and plenty for everyone to do all day. Register by 10 May and take advantage of our early bird prices! Finish the walk to go in the draw for our major prize to help you enjoy your lazy Sunday.

DESCRIPTION:26 April 2012 RE:	SAVE AND MAINTAIN OUR ASSETS (SAMOA) Project To whom it may concern I am writing on behalf of the Samoan community in Canberra to seek your support as an employer and community supporter, for the above-named project which aims at assisting mostly young members of our community to obtain and maintain employment. The ACT Government is a strong supporter of this project and has encouraged the idea of a workshop, whereby young members of our community would meet with prospective employers to discuss relevant employment issues in a relaxed and friendly environment. The workshop will also provide opportunities for the job seekers to improve their resume writing and interview skills. This workshop is scheduled for Saturday 26 May 2012, at the Weston Creek Community Hall, Parkinson Street, Weston Creek, commencing at 11:00 am. We therefore seek your organisation’s support for the project with its presence at the workshop. We understand that your organisation’s participation at the workshop will not compromise its normal recruitment practices and policies. The workshop will be attended by various members of the Samoan community and other ethnic communities in Canberra. We hope that this workshop will be a model for future ventures by the Pacific community to increase workforce participation, with particular emphasis on those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We intend to approach the media to gain wider community publicity of the project and its objectives. We would greatly appreciate it if you could indicate whether or not you are able to attend. You are welcome to bring to the workshop written information about your organisation and/or products that you may wish to display. Should you require further information regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned on 0434154421 or via email at lieta_sd@hotmail.com. Yours sincerely Lieta Sauiluma-Duggan SAMOA Project Coordinator

DESCRIPTION:Not just a Fashion Parade, Promenade to Patio is a semi-theatrical event which looks at the development of Australia through the clothes and social conventions of each decade. Laugh, cry, and be touched by the wonderful stores which accompany each of these beautiful outfits, worn by women who helped shape our nation. Be prepared for a fashion feast: elegant Edwardians, fascinators, fans, the flappers of the Roaring Twenties, ball gowns, and the outrageous 1970s. Just a small part of what you will see. A fascinating, entertaining and memorable glimpse into our wonderful past.
