Placing his music within a genre or comparing him to other artists is impossible. What can be said is that this album offers up atmospheric folk tunes full of relaxing grooves which make you feel like you're sitting around the campfire with a mate jamming in the background (with multiple instruments!).

What sets Garrels apart from most other artists is his lyrics. He's a true lyrical genius, with the words of his songs reading like insightful poetry. He is blessed with a gift which enables him to sing about the God he loves and serves without ever sounding cliché. He delivers his words with a rich soulful voice at times, at others through spoken word verging on hip-hop.
