The Governor-General Quentin Bryce AC is generously allowing The Smith Family to host our annual Government House Open Day in Canberra.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to take a tour of Government House and its gardens, which are seldom open to the general public. We are also currently planning a new and exciting line-up of entertainment, arts, stalls and culinary delights for guests of all ages.
Proceeds from the event and a percentage of artwork sold will help The Smith Family support disadvantaged children within the ACT and across Australia to create better futures for themselves through education. With thanks to Their Excellencies Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE for kindly donating their residence for our fundraising event. Entries for the Australian Running Festival are now open, with 2012 set to build on the inaugural event’s success.
Incorporating The Canberra Times Canberra Marathon along with a Half Marathon and fun runs, the Australian Running Festival offers an event for all abilities, from serious runners to joggers, wheelchairs, pushers and walkers.
The following runs will be held in the Nation’s Capital this April:
• Saturday, April 14, 2012 - 5km and 10km fun runs.
• Sunday, April 15, 2012 - Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra Marathon.
