Can you move my favourite program to a different time?

Unfortunately, with current resources, we can't please everyone, as much as we wish we could. Programming decisions are made on a variety of factors, including program quality and content, listener preferences, program provider preferences, and other factors. But if the program you want to hear is not available at the time you want to hear it, you can, in most cases, purchase audio CDs or DVDs from the program producers, or download the content from the program websites (many offer this as a free podcast). Links and further details can be obtained on our website or through our office.

Can you air more praise and worship music and teaching programs?

At the moment, 1WAY FM balances our programming with a contemporary, relational focus during the day, and a teaching focus at night. We are undertaking extensive research and planning to discern the needs of the entire Christian community, and in turn the wider Canberra community, and will aim to effectively position our programming to reach and support the largest contingent possible (and to do it well). As we embrace new technologies including digital radio, mobile phones and the Internet, programming choices will progressively widen with more control being returned to the listener.

Can you play positive music by non-Christian artists as well?

Our current music policy, based on our constituting documents, allows 1WAY FM to play only 100% Christian music, which is interpreted by the board of directors as music where the principal performer(s) is/are a Christian artist. Christian artists are artists who proclaim that they are Christians and whose lifestyle is not inconsistent with the Christian message.

The 1WAY FM board, staff, and volunteers are not authorised to play music by non-Christian artists (or to change the constitution) without acceptance by 1WAY FM members.

Can you start streaming/podcasting?

We have now launched online streaming - check out the audio lounge of our website! Podcasts of a small number of our programs are also available here. We are currently testing various podcasting possibilities and hope to launch further podcasts in the near future.

Why isn't there a Christian radio station in Sydney?

There is! If you have trouble finding Sydney's Christian station, tune in to 103.2 on the FM dial next time you are in the big smoke. There are Christian radio stations in every major centre (and many regional centres) around Australia, and you can find all of them listed in our links section.

Can you promote my event, ministry, church or business?

Sure! There are a number of ways that we can promote you. Which one you choose will depend on the nature of your event/ministry/church/business, the amount of promotion you want (and whether you want it guaranteed), and how much money you are willing to spend (there are free options too).

The Community Noticeboard on our website is the easiest and most cost effective way (it's free!) to promote an event you may be holding. We will list the event on our website, and mention it on air providing the cost of attending the event is $20 or less. Although your event will most likely be mentioned multiple times on-air (more if you submit it earlier), we can't guarantee specific air times.

The other most common way to promote an event, or church, other ministry, or business on 1WAY FM is through sponsorship. In return for your financial or in kind sponsorship, we'll acknowledge your organisation through professionally produced on-air announcements, usually as a 30 second spot. Many options are available and can be tailored to your specific needs - so the best thing to do is contact us for details.

There are two other ways to promote a cause. You can request an interview with one of our announcers, or provide a produced 'CSA' (community service announcement) to be added to our CSA schedule. CSAs are usually 30 second spots, and are used to fill on-air gaps where required. CSAs must be community related, and cannot promote the services of a for-profit business - an example of CSAs that we currently play include for the ACT Emergency Services, Kids Helpline, the Red Cross Blood Service, and from time to time ministry related events in Canberra. You can produce your own CSA and send it to us for consideration, or contact us and we may be able to professionally produce a CSA for you at a small cost.

We are always willing to support ministries and community organisations in Canberra, but unfortunately cannot provided guaranteed airtime outside of a paid sponsorship arrangement.
